About Classes
Classes are held at 718 Puuhale Road in a fully equipped
workshop.
Basic Ukulele construction will be taught to all students
in the making of a 4 string tenor ukulele.
A step-by-step, 10 phase process will be demonstrated
and explained for each procedure of making a ukulele.
Alternate approaches to many procedures will be offered
and explained. The class is designed to eliminate months
of "lets figure it out" stage of learning how
to build a ukulele.
All materials to construct a 4 string tenor ukulele will
be provided. Ukulele supplies and parts include: Choice
of AAA Walnut, AAAA Mahogany, or AA Koa ukulele kit, Aquila
strings, your choice of inlay markers, silver nickel fret
wire, Corian nuts and saddles and Gotoh SGM geared machined
tuners (upgrades available).
Visit our Shop Store for more great ukulele parts and
accessories.
All course materials are selected and milled by Hana Lima
'Ia to ensure wood quality for your first Ukulele. All
participants in Ukulele classes will be given a full-scale
plan and a lesson-by-lesson work schedule.
Lessons are currently 3 hours long, one day per week
for 10 consecutive weeks.
