Title: The eas of making Go bars and a go bar deck
Post by Acabooe on Mar 6th, 2008 at 5:08am
First I would like to say thanks to Mike and Asa Chock for putting together the Ukulele construction manual that I am currently using to make my first Ukulele.

I am putting up this post to hopefully help any new luthier ( which is what I am ) at constructing a go bar deck and go bars.

First I constructed a box that is 17 1/2" tall on the inside.

Next, I cut up some old table legs, and a pvc pipe to make rings.
I drilled pilot holes in the legs and the rings.
Then I cut small sections out of the rings to make them look a "C".
Finally I screwed the C's to the legs, and Viola, the go bars, and deck are done.
The height is about 17" tall inside.

Since my go bar deck is not height adjustable, I just put little scrap pieces of wood in between the bar and the wood to take up the slack.

I used material that I already had, so I didn't spend a cent to make this project.

Thanks again to Mike and Asa.
I hope that this post can help new luthiers.
Remember, you can do anything that you can think up, good luck, and keep building.
