FRee Uke Tabkature - chords and lyrics on the net
Sep 9th, 2003 at 6:06pm

Hi,I was just searching for a Uke arrangement of 'Blue Hawaii '. All I could were some lyrics.

Does anyone know or a reliable resource for any Uke based arrangments and tabs on the web ?

I was looking for something along the lines of the numeorus guitar based tab sites.

I know we can transpose and convert but I thought it would be nice to have an Uke specific archive somewhere.

Hey John,
Good to see you on the boards!  I've heard there have been some problems with 'Previewing' your posts.  There is a chance that it will loose what you wrote instead, so be sure to copy em first.  I'm going to try and update this thing soon...  Undecided

There is a good string of posts about uke sheet music here:
http://www.hanalima.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=news;action=display;num=10131...

By the way one of our favorites, TropicalStormHawaii.com moved their site here:

travis' island vibrations is a good place to start, some of the tabs are super good, other than that, you just have to spend time with your uke and some friends and learn different techniques and methods.

Thank you for the lead Curtisle, here is a link to travis' island vibrations site.  It is a free site with pop up adds but there is a lot of information in there so it's still worth it Smiley

Aloha,
Though dabbling with the uke a few weeks a year prior to heading over to our little piece of paradise on Kauai',  I still consider myself a beginner.  I have been searching for detailed ukulele tabs and found that there just aren't many around.

John King has  a few in tablature format on his site at
http://www.nalu-music.com

Since I am a guitarist of many years and have transcribed several guitar tunes I decided to spend some time and give it a go at creating some decent ukulele transcriptions.  I have some complete songs as well as some intros and first verse and chorus sections of tunes by Jake Shimabukuro, Herb Ohta and others on my web site.  These can be downloaded at
http://www.rockslide.org
Just follow the links to the ukulele page.

I will have to give the version of Blue Hawaii as recorded on the Art of Solo Ukulele a listen and see if I can get a handle on it .

Give my transcriptions a look and see what you think.
Mahalo,

Hi John,
I am glad you found your way back to this thread.  Thanks for the kind words.  Yes, it does take a fare amount of time to work out the works of Jake, Herb Ohta and others and that is why some of those are currently incomplete.  But I am still working on them as time permits.

Currently working on the live version of Crazy G from Jake's Sunday Morning CD but it is his intro that I am not satisfied with the chord voicings I am coming up with.  It is giving me fits right now but I have pretty much the rest figured out.

Have fun with the tunes and feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding any section of the transcriptions.
Enjoy,
Dominator
