Aloha Guys,
I just finished my tenor uke made with a honduran mahogany kit from bought from Ukulele supply and was wondering what type or brand of wood stain could I use to make it look like the old Martin Ukes the ones look like rosewood but stay made of mahogany?. ???

Me, too!
I have noticed how red the mahogany can be, and would like the final color to be more brown. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Here's my project:

I'm impatient so I went ahead and put some dk walnut stain on my mahogany uke. It makes a nice medium brown color. I like it!

Try using a cherry color stain either in the paste form or liquid.  The paste type stain will help to fill pores in the wood also. Or you can go to any paint store and have them match a wood stain for you. Just show them what you want to match and the sales person should be able to help you. Don't forget to test on a piece of wood first.
