six and eight string tuner spacing

I'm hoping someone will weigh in with info or a location for the info on what the necessary measurements are to space out tuners for 6 string and 8 string headstocks. I'm refering to six strings as a double on the C and E (third and first), (biggest and smallest), you get the idea. Smiley
