Bridge & Sound patch bracing
Nov 13th, 2007 at 12:10pm

I have read here that the thickness of material for these braces on a kasha style uke is about .07.  Is it the same for a stndard braced tenor uke?
Thanks,
Lefty

Lefty:
I am going to add to your question and ask what thickness should the patches be on the fan-braced tenor? At present I can't add the tone-bars until I install the bridge patch. In was considering veneer (0.025") but it seems too thin.

Howdy Bob,
I too am waiting for an answer.  I'm ready to brace my top and realized I needed the sound hole and bridge patch info...A friend of mine suggested 1/16" but I would like to confirm that.

Check this out.

I'm sure Mike or Asa will chime it before long.

Hi Philip,
I saw that when I did my search but I'm not sure if those measurements apply to a stanfard uke.

  Thanks for your input,

Sorry about the delay Lefty.  The patch thickness is the same, about .07" for both bracing patterns.  Your friend is correct to say about 1/16" (0.0625).

Bob, the veneer is a bit too thin at 0.025" but you could laminate two or three of those guys together and be fine Smiley
