Hello, I thought I would show off my first build. It is a soprano mahogany body and neck with rosewood fretboard, nut and saddle.

Looking good.
Is that a wood saddle ? What kind of wood? What finish did you use?

Sorry for the third degree but inquiring minds want to know.

I purchases the kit from Hana Lima 'IA. It is mahogany neck and body. I reshaped it to a Kumalae. It had no sound hole support so I added that to it. It had a real bad nut, saddle and bridge so I made a nut and saddle out of bone and a bridge out of rosewood. I finished it with Watco Danish Oil and used Renaissance wax polish.

Cheers!

That is really strange.. Every part and kit that I have purchased from Hana Lima has had excellent parts...What about the parts was bad?

At no time are my posts negative towards anyone. In my opinion the plastic bridge that is supplied with the soprano kit was not up to my personal standards. I also replaced the tuners as they were low quality as well. No dig to Hana Lima "IA in any, way shape or form. They were very kind to me.
